There are three markets in Wallingford as well as other occasional themed markets throughout the year selling everything from fruit and vegetables to unique gifts.

Wallingford has a lot of conveniences located in the centre of town, with a pharmacy located in the Market Place, an osteopathy clinic on the High Street and opticians on the St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s Street. There are multiple dental practices across the town, an audiologist and Wallingford Medical Practice is located a short walk from the Town Centre, down Reading Road. There is also the Wallingford Community Hospital which houses the Maternity & Birthing Centre.

You’ll have no problem finding somewhere to get your hair cut and styled with many hair salons and barbers in the town centre. There are also beauty salons on St. Mary’s Street and multiple nail bars.

For those who are interested in crafting or DIY, there are shops trading in arts and craftwork materials located on St. Mary’s Street and St. Martin’s Street. St. Martin’s Street is also home to the town’s independent book shop.

On St Martin’s Street is a bike shop selling everything a cyclist could need and with a workshop offering repairs. On St Mary’s Street is a sports shop stocking a wide range of sporting equipment, specialist clothing, footwear specialising in running.

You are not short of options when it comes to buying gifts and jewellery in Wallingford. There are a number of shops selling unique gifts and trinkets for your home at both ends of St Martin’s Street and St. Mary’s Street. A card shop can also be found on St. Mary’s Street and in the stationery shop in St Martin’s Street and florists on St Martin’s Street and Station Road.

There are a number of ladies wear and accessories shops around the Market Place and in St Mary’s Street as well as shoe shops. At the southern end of St Mary’s street, you’ll find a milliners selling a unique selection of handmade hats and fascinators, as well as organic and fairtrade items in Just Trading of Wallingford.. Wallingford is home to Pettit’s department store established in the town in 1856, selling a range of menswear, ladies wear and lingerie.

The High Street hosts a number of antique shops selling a variety of items from jewellery and small trinkets to furniture and decorative items. Wallingford Antiques Arcade, once an old coaching inn, is now a unique shopping experience with multiple antiques dealers under one roof.
